Schedule a Consultation Learn More About Our Approach Testimonials My daughter met Pam in the Girls Connection group, and continued working with Pam individually throughout middle school, high school and her college transition. Throughout the years Pam has been a wonderful mentor and friend. She gives my daughter unbelievable guidance on being a woman and all of the aspects my daughter needs to deal with including relationships, friendships, and academics. Pam has an honest and authentic approach with the girls. Girls open up to her because she is a skilled listener and she gets it - no judgment, no resolving. She has a magic way of letting the girls find their way and be who they are while keeping them on their path. My first go-to person as a mother is Pam. I often seek advice and guidance from her because I trust her opinion greatly. Without Pam, my daughter would not be the amazing young woman she is. My daughter’s transition to college was a difficult time, but I reached out and Pam helped put her in the right direction by giving her techniques and solutions to cope and handle the new situations she had to conquer. The first thought that comes to mind when I think about Pam Willsey helping my daughters’ transition to college is “It takes a village!” I have had two of my daughters work with Pam over their high school years and it has been invaluable to them. Let’s face it; this generation of kids has to juggle so much more than when we did growing up. The standards are higher, the expectations are greater, and life is just more challenging. I believe that my daughters working with Pam and having shared experiences with their peers has given them the confidence it takes to prepare them for the independence needed in their college years. All I can say is Pam Willsey is a terrific mentor to all the girls and has an unbelievable connection to teens and young adult women. The challenges my daughter faced transitioning to college were not easy, and I contribute her success to Pam’s wisdom of women and dedication! I’m so grateful for Pam’s work. It helped my kids through their most difficult years. Nevertheless, Pam is not out of our lives! I still say “Go ask Pam!” ## Our Approach URL: https://willseyconnections.com/our-approach/ Our Approach Bridging the Gap. Changing the Conversation. There’s no one-size-fits-all answer when it comes to mental health. Therapy Medication Coaching has its place. But what happens when none of it feels like enough on its own? That’s where we come in. At Willsey Connections, we bridge the gap between traditional therapy, coaching, and education, offering something most girls and young women rarely receive: Deep emotional support and practical skills. Clinical insight and real-world tools. A safe space to feel and a path forward to grow. Because while diagnosis can name the struggle, it doesn’t always teach the skills to move through it. And while coaching can focus on goals, it doesn’t always address the emotional roots underneath. What we offer is different. It’s not about either/or. It’s about all of her — seen, understood, supported, and equipped. The Paradigm Shift Method™ How We Help Her Grow From the Inside Out Our signature Paradigm Shift Method™ is rooted in decades of clinical practice, coaching expertise, and evidence-based techniques like: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) Mindfulness- Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) Positive Psychology But what makes it truly powerful is its simplicity. This method gives girls and young women a step-by-step way to: Understand how their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are connected Learn how to pause, process, and respond (instead of react) Create new patterns of thinking that lead to healthier actions Build emotional strength, resilience, and self-trust How We Help Her Grow From the Inside Out Rewiring Thought Patterns Because the way we think shapes the way we feel . Most girls are never taught to notice their inner dialogue, let alone change it. We teach her how to catch unhelpful thoughts, challenge them, and choose a new story — one rooted in truth, not fear. Calming the Nervous System Because real growth can’t happen in survival mode. Stress, anxiety, overwhelm — these live in the body, not just the mind. We help her build simple, science-backed practices to feel grounded, safe, and steady — no matter what life throws her way. Building Emotional Muscles for Life Because challenges will come. What matters is how she meets them. We teach practical, lifelong skills to navigate emotions, communicate clearly, set boundaries, and stay connected to who she really is — even when things get hard. So she doesn’t just cope with challenges… she moves through them with confidence and clarity. A Strengths-Based, Compassion- Driven Philosophy We believe every girl already holds wisdom, strength, and resilience within her. Our job is to help her see herself, reconnect with her inner resources, and build the tools to thrive. We meet her exactly where she is — with curiosity, compassion, and respect — and help her move toward where she wants to go. This is a strengths-based approach rooted in Positive Psychology — focusing not just on what’s hard, but on what’s possible. The EQ Wardrobe™ Real-World Skills for a Life That Feels Like Their Own Inside our group programs — and in our Packing for Success curriculum — we use a tool called the EQ Wardrobe™. Why “wardrobe”? Because just like clothes, emotional skills are things you try on, grow into, and carry with you through life. The EQ Wardrobe teaches foundational emotional intelligence skills like: Navigating friendships & conflict Setting boundaries with confidence Managing stress, anxiety & overwhelm Managing stress, anxiety & overwhelm Developing a stronger sense of identity & self-worth This is the emotional toolkit we wish every girl had growing up. Simple. Practical. Life-changing. If You’re Looking For… A space where your daughter can feel seen, heard, and supported A process that teaches her real skills she’ll use forever Building Emotional Muscles for Life You’re in the right place. And doing it alone makes it even harder. That’s why our group programs exist — to give girls a safe, supportive space to connect, learn, and grow together. This isn’t about lectures or life advice from adults who don’t understand. This is about creating a space where she can… Be herself without judgment Feel seen and understood Learn real skills to navigate real life And build the confidence to show up fully as who she is How Our Groups Work We offer small, age-appropriate coaching groups for girls from middle school through high school. But while the age and curriculum might change, our mission stays the same: Help her understand what she’s feeling (and why) Teach her practical tools to manage emotions Guide her in building healthy, authentic relationships And support her in becoming the strongest, truest version of herself This isn’t therapy. This isn’t school. This is something different. A Model Designed to Grow With Her Most programs run for a few weeks or months and then end. Ours is different. When a girl joins Willsey Connections, she can stay in her group for years if she finds it valuable. Because every year, life looks a little different. And so does our curriculum. Middle School: Navigating friendships, identity, and social changes High School: Managing stress, independence, and real-world pressures Every year builds on the last, layering new lessons and skills based on her growth, stage, and experiences. This is about meeting her where she is — and walking with her through whatever comes next. What She’ll Learn No matter her age, every group at Willsey Connections helps her: Navigate friendships & conflict with confidence Manage stress, anxiety & overwhelm Communicate clearly & set healthy boundaries Strengthen self- awareness & emotional resilience Build a positive, grounded sense of identity These aren’t just good skills to have. They’re life skills she’ll carry forever. Why It Works It’s relationship- based, not time-limited It’s layered and developmentally-appropriate It’s grounded in emotional intelligence & positive psychology It’s safe, supportive, and deeply connective And… It’s fun Because growth happens best when you feel like you belong. Curious About Current Openings? Our group programs run throughout the year, and enrollment is based on availability. Inquire About Current Openings ## The Kidz Connection URL: https://willseyconnections.com/thekidzconnection-girls-coaching/ The Kidz Connection A unique space for fourth and fifth grade girls to begin to build the foundation for a lifelong journey of Social and Emotional Intelligence. TKC: Our Young Girls Coaching Program The Kidz Connection girls coaching program focuses on many areas of self- awareness and development. Two of the basic threads throughout are self-esteem (how we feel about ourselves) and self-confidence (how we feel about our ability to succeed). Young children often find themselves internalizing their experiences and thus creating a limiting belief system. I wasn’t invited to Susie’s party → It must mean nobody likes me. I missed the game- winning goal at soccer today → I probably shouldn’t even play this stupid sport. As a parent, you may have already heard similar crushing statements from your own children’s mouths. How Group Coaching Works The mission of The Kidz Connection is to help children shift their power and turn those limiting beliefs into supportive ones. When children feel empowered to choose how they are going to respond to the situations in their life, it’s a game-changer for their self-confidence. Working with others allows girls coaching group participants to be in a safe space to share, listen, learn, teach, and solidify the connections that matter most. The ideal girls coaching group atmosphere allows the participants to be open to change and growth, both independently and together. Developing a deep connection to ourselves and others in our world is the foundation that gives our life meaning and purpose. Our clients sustaining a solid connection to themselves and others is a central theme throughout all programs at Willsey Connections. Learning how to both build and strengthen these connections at a young age can change the course of their life. Doing self-work in a group setting expedites discovering what their limiting beliefs are, and how these beliefs may be underneath behavioral patterns that keep them from living a life that is in alignment with their most authentic self. Structured in a strategic way that creates connection before content, participants immediately feel welcome and safe to come as they are, feel whatever they feel, and share in ways that are often both vulnerable and growth enhancing. Individual Coaching TKC individual coaching is an opportunity for your daughter to have one-on-one time with a licensed/certified coach, focusing on her own unique situations. Coaches guide and help each girl to work through managing family conflict, respectful disagreements, what makes a good friend, and values-based behaviors. Sessions will be focused on developing their self-confidence and building a solid foundation for actionable strategies and visible growth. Coaching vs Therapy Coaching is not therapy . Therapy will focus on your thoughts and feelings and how they are informed by your past. Life coaching may touch on these concepts as you break down your limiting beliefs and examine your blueprint, but its ultimate focus is always on the present and the future. Our coaches will not diagnose or medically treat clients. Instead, our coaches help inspire girls to grow and achieve in the ways that they aspire to be. Let's Connect! When children have positive self-esteem and self- confidence, they believe in themselves and trust their own unique ability to handle life’s many difficult situations. They are also less likely to fall to peer pressure and more willing to challenge themselves rather than let fear or obstacles diminish their dreams. But honestly, investing my time, money, and effort into coaching was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. At first, I was skeptical. I mean, who really needs a life coach, right? But from the very first session, I could feel a shift happening within me. Pam helped me dig deep and uncover my true passions and values. It was like she held up a mirror to my soul and showed me the incredible potential I had been overlooking. As we continued to work together, my confidence skyrocketed. I started setting goals for myself and actually believing I could achieve them. With each small victory, my self-esteem grew stronger, and suddenly, challenges didn’t seem so overwhelming anymore. But it wasn’t just about boosting my confidence. Pam also helped me develop skills and strategies to overcome obstacles and stay focused on my goals. We called it my “toolkit.” Now I know how to manage my mind – ways to reduce my stress and exercises that help me reframe my thoughts in a more productive way. I learned super valuable tools that I’ll bring with me for the rest of my life. Sure, working with a coach required a commitment. But let me tell you, it was worth every penny and every minute. The transformation I’ve experienced is beyond amazing. I feel more empowered, more focused, and more excited about my future than ever before. Do it – it’s one of the best investments you can make in yourself. Confidence Coaching Testimonials From a mom : My daughter met Pam in the girls group, and continued working with Pam individually throughout middle school, high school and her college transition. She gives my daughter unbelievable guidance on being a woman and all of the aspects my daughter needs to deal with including relationships, friendships, and academics. From a high school girl : Thank you so much for working with me! It means so much to me and has helped me get through some tough times. From the mother of a college junior : You are magic Pam. You have superhuman powers when it comes to the ability to be relatable and connect. From a middle school mom : Pam has an honest and authentic approach with the girls. Girls open up to her because she is a skilled listener and she gets it – no judgment, no resolving. She has a magic way of letting the girls find their way and be who they are while keeping them on their path. From a college junior : Happy New Year, Vanessa. There aren’t sufficient words to express just how much I appreciate everything you did to help me appreciate life in 2023 and set me up for success in 2024. From a high school girl : Vanessa’s groups for girls that my 10-year-old has participated in are so supportive and kind, teaching loads of skills that I wish all kids could gain. As a Pediatrician, I see the work that Vanessa is doing as some of the smartest prevention work out there. Giving girls the ability to not only name their emotions but build strategies to deal with these is an invaluable gift. Especially doing it in a fun, stress-free environment. Not to mention that my daughter LOVES Vanessa and thinks she is the coolest adult on the planet. From an elementary mom : Hey Nicole, I wanted to give you some feedback from Lily. She said yesterday that she thought she was doing so good with her mindset and she said, and I think the reason is because of Nicole. Just wanted to let you know you’re doing a great job! From the mother of a college junior : After I talk to you, I always feel a huge sense of relief. From a middle school girl : Vanessa is so easy to talk to. She makes group really fun and interesting. She relates to us so well and gives us really good advice. I love the time I am with her in group and I feel really lucky to have that space to go to. From a high school girl : Before working with Pam, I doubted myself all the time. It’s like a total game-changer. A life coach is someone who works with individuals to help them identify and achieve their personal and professional goals. They provide support, guidance, and accountability to help clients overcome obstacles, develop new skills, and make positive changes in their lives. Life coaches use various techniques and strategies, such as goal-setting, visualization, and mindset shifts, to empower their clients to reach their full potential and lead fulfilling lives. They often focus on areas such as career development, relationships, health and wellness, and personal growth. It’s important to note that life coaches are not therapists or counselors, but rather mentors who help clients create actionable plans to achieve their desired outcomes. Why should I hire a life coach to help my daughter's confidence? Hiring a life coach for your daughter can provide personalized support, boost her confidence, and help her set and achieve goals. A coach can also assist with developing essential life skills, navigating transitions, and supporting her emotional well- being. It’s a proactive step to help her realize her potential and thrive in various aspects of her life. How many sessions does it take for my daughter’s confidence to increase? The number of sessions needed for your daughter’s confidence to increase can vary. Some see improvements after a few sessions, while deeper changes may take several weeks or months. It depends on her starting point, commitment, and the effectiveness of the coaching. Each person’s journey is unique, so it’s essential to approach coaching with patience and dedication. How is confidence coaching different from therapy? While therapy often focuses on healing past trauma and addressing mental health issues, life coaching is more future-oriented and goal-focused. Coaches help clients identify their strengths, values, and goals, and then develop strategies to achieve them. Life coaching is not a substitute for therapy, but it can be a complementary practice that can help individuals thrive in various aspects of life. Each topic has shifted my way of looking at or experiencing different things. While making decisions regarding anything, the significance of my values are now at the forefront of my mind- helping me make the best decision possible. I feel like I knew of these concepts prior to the Thrive Lab but I never knew how crucial implementing each of them was to my every day life until this experience. I am so grateful I had the chance to do this- Pam and Mabel are such a great team make this experience to fun and memorable. W.M. Thrive Lab Participant The "Putting Your Values Into Action" topic that we discussed as a group was very eyeopening in the sense that it gave me the necessary moments to think about the little steps that I can take to reach my life dreams. Thrive Lab Participant The week about our future self and our dreams helped me realize how I had been neglecting some areas in my life that bring me joy. D.V.
